It’s August 1st, and the salt in the air and rust on the door month is here. So what does that mean for us Data nerds?
5 months for our journey in 2022. Today you could make one of the two choices in hand, take an initiative and begin your learning journey into Data or remain in the control group ( you’d have to learn Data Analysis to understand this XD ).
I and your future self would want you to choose the former. If your present self does too, let’s go!

So first, before embarking upon this exciting and amazingly rewarding process let’s get our minds wrapped around the concept of Data Analysis and the demons we’d be fighting while on the go.
Data Analysis 📊
Data is information that has been translated in a way that is efficient for processing and computation. Data analysis is the process of converting millions of such data points into actionable insights. This process can take different forms depending on the industry and task in hand. But the good part? it still requires the same tools!
Tools in Data Analysis
One thing about my Twitter profile? I repeat a particular line a lot. It being:
See a pattern here? The repeated mention of Excel, SQL , Tableau ( or any data visualization tool ) and Python. Why you ask? Because that’s all you need with a dash of math and stats.
Let’s dive right into each of them -
Math and Statistics
When dealing with data, Math and Statistics are your language, the only language data speaks. But if you hated math in school and don’t want to get overwhelmed, don’t beat yourself up about it and come review it after you are comfortable with the tools.
Khan Academy has the best interactive courses on almost any topic you could think of.

SQL
Once you can take an overview of a limited amount of data, it’s time to deal with the big gangs. Structured Query Language is the meat and potatoes of Data. No matter which industry or role you take, SQL is not going anywhere. Might as well master it.

A Data Viz Tool
Once you have extracted and wrangled data, it’s time to create beautiful dashboards that help communicate the data’s story to a wider audience. There are numerous Data Visualization tool available out there, the most popular ones being Tableau and Power BI. Both are beginner friendly, you can learn any one.
Python
Now that your Data pipeline is complete, it’s time to make things more efficient and automate it off. Any scripting language is a great addition to your toolbelt. I have a special inclination towards python because of it’s easy to understand, beginner friendly syntax.
